Vodafone Wallet wins four awards

Vodafone Wallet, Vodafone’s payment app, has been recognised by the mobile commerce industry through a string of awards, including ‘Overall Winner’ and ‘Best Engagement and Loyalty Scheme’ at the recent 2016 Payment Awards in London. A week earlier, Vodafone Wallet also scooped ‘Best Proximity or Contactless Payment Solution’ and ‘Best Gift/Incentive Card or Programme’ at the 2016 Emerging Payment Awards.

The latest Vodafone Wallet innovation is Vodafone Pay, which enables Vodafone’s customers in Spain, Italy and the UK to store their Visa and MasterCard details on the app and link their PayPal accounts, enhancing choice and flexibility when they make contactless payments. Vodafone Wallet also allows customers to track their spending easily via the app.

In addition, Vodafone Wallet users can store their loyalty cards on the app – so as to collect and redeem points at the till – and they can receive vouchers and offers from their preferred brands on their device. Customers can also use Vodafone Wallet to pay for travel on Transport for London and on public transport in Spain and the Netherlands.

Mark Ritzmann, Vodafone’s Head of mCommerce said, “we continue to innovate to bring new and exciting services to the Vodafone Wallet and we are currently assessing the feasibility of introducing a secure digital key, which customers could use to access their house or office. I am more convinced than ever that the physical wallet or purse will be consigned to history by 2020.”
