Bright Sky

Vodafone Foundation in Luxembourg have worked in partnership with local NGO Femmes en détresse as well as the UK-based Thames Valley Partnership and Aspirant, to expand the free app Bright Sky to support users in Luxembourg, helping connect survivors of domestic abuse to advice and support services across the country.

The app enables users to locate their nearest support center by searching their area, or current location. The app is available in Luxembourgish, French, English and Portuguese, to reflect the linguistically diverse nature of Luxembourg.

HiDigital Portal

Covid-19 has greatly increased the need to be able to use online services, but for the less digitally literate, the imposed restrictions were far more severe, reducing their independence and increasing their risk of becoming socially isolated, among which are many senior citizens.

Vodafone Foundation in Luxembourg is partnering with GERO – a local NGO dedicated to supporting older people to continue living full, independent lives, to deliver in-person support across 30 local communities on busy market days in Luxembourg. The branded Digibus “pop-up” facility will comprise a professional digital trainer and Vodafone and GERO volunteers.

This is part of Vodafone Foundation’s Skills Upload Europe initiative, using technologies from the Hi Digital programme.
