Evaluation based on completeness of vision and ability to execute

Vodafone today announced it has been named by Gartner, Inc. as the only company in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Europe.* The report reviewed the offering of 13 vendors in the market.

Gartner describes managed hybrid cloud hosting as representing the “continuing evolution of the traditional and cloud-enabled managed hosting market, as the influences of cloud IaaS continue to alter buyer behaviours and expectations. The hosting market has shifted from the use of hardware dedicated to each customer and sold on multiyear contracts to the use of an underlying cloud-enabled system infrastructure (CESI) and public IaaS platform.”

Vodafone Cloud & Hosting Services Director Greg Hyttenrauch said: “We believe Gartner’s positioning of Vodafone in the “Visionaries” quadrant validates our truly differentiated hybrid cloud proposition. We continue to invest significantly into our cloud capabilities, leveraging our strengths in mobility, secure global networks and the Internet of Things while expanding our in-country cloud and hosting operations to 14 markets. As an integrated provider of mobile, fixed and cloud and hosting services, we are well placed to meet our customers’ convergence needs, offering them a more tailored service to reflect their local priorities.’ We feel Vodafone’s recognition as the only vendor in the ‘Visionaries’ quadrant is testament to our progress in a fast growing and rapidly changing market.”

In the past 12 months, Vodafone has broadened its portfolio of services to give customers more choice and flexibility, including the launch of both private cloud solutions (UK, Germany and Ireland) and virtual private cloud solutions (UK, Germany and Italy). The expanded portfolio includes Vodafone’s hybrid offering for enterprise customers with more complex requirements. This offers private cloud-level security when needed while supporting multiple vendors.
