Human rights at Vodafone
Vodafone's commitment to respecting human rights is central to how we do business. We want to make sure that we have a positive impact on people and society, which includes respecting human rights in all our operations. We are a long-standing member of the UN Global Compact and follow the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, which guide our approach.
Vodafone's Purpose is to connect for a better future. We believe that connectivity is a force for good, it is an essential part of our lives. If we use technology for the things that really matter, it can empower people and support he realisation of human rights so as access to digital services such as finance, education and healthcare.
As well as the positive opportunities we create, we are also conscious of the human rights risks associated with our operations. We work hard to make sure we don’t create those risks ourselves, and are not linked to risks created by others that we work with.
Human rights underpin the Sustainable Development Goals and Vodafone is committed to playing our role. We believe we can increase the speed of delivery across a wide number of SDGs through leveraging our technology and services, and through partnering with others.
